Three Months

That’s how long it’s been since I was here last, and you too, by the look of things. I hope you’re all happy and well and that this year will be good to you. Hopefully soon I’ll have something to write that’s worth reading.

Create a good day.

  1. Yeah, it wasn’t fun for a while there. By October I had no funds at all, just the roomie’s rent and food stamps. Last week of October I got a job – and lost it before the two week training was done. I kept fading out in class. At first I thought it was the schedule change from going to bed at 6 AM to getting up at 6 AM; then I thought it was the cold medicine I was taking, so I stopped that. Then I thought it was sugar crash from all the Jolly Rancher candies I was eating, so I stopped that. Went through idea after idea and eliminated all of them, to no avail. I finally figured it out – I was so hyper-focused on what I was doing that I was sitting absolutely still and folded over at the diaphragm that I was literally starting to pass out. That lightbulb went off over my head just before we broke for lunch – and they tagged me to go to HR when we broke. Pfeh!

A week and a half later, another staffing agency found me a job, and I’ve been there since mid November. Call Center work for an insurance agency. Not my favorite thing to do, but I’m getting the hang of it and getting better with my average handle times. And it’s a decent paycheck, so on the whole I’ll take it.

But during all that I couldn’t pay the internet cable bill, so was offline for September through mid November. And now that I have a job, I have no damn time! Trying to juggle work, pets, and sleep leaves me no time to do the editing job I took on the side, much less write! But once again, on the whole I’ll take the paycheck. Eventually I may actually get to make another house payment…

  2. It occurs to me to say sorry I wasn’t here to notice you weren’t here! Is everything okay on your end of the world? Or at least, like mine, getting better? Hope whatever caused your hiatus wasn’t too painful!
